A Different Kind of Studio
“Yoga is not a work-out, it is a work-in. And this is the point of spiritual practice; to make us teachable; to open up our hearts and focus our awareness so that we can know what we already know and be who we already are.” — Rolf Gates
Our mission at Lotus Yoga Studio is the spread kindness. To lead from the heart to create and hold space for others. To shine our light to the rest of the planet. It is truly a privilege to practice in this way.
As we show up on our mat and in the community, we share authentic experiences of living in a complex and sometimes confusing world. We respect that our struggles are not the same. We strive for true connection and that starts with recognition of our shared humanity, desire for love, and need for compassion and understanding. We are linked together in an unending circle that expands when we welcome people to share time and space with us.
One way we spread kindness is by sharing laughter. The kind that comes from the soles of your feet to make you sides ache and your eyes water. If we can find the humor, we can find the path to deep contentment. This is not to dismiss the pain we feel, but to remind us that like all things, pain is temporary, and joy shared is doubled.
We believe in and value connection. The kind of connection that makes your heart tremble a little bit because you are seen in all your magnificence, in your struggle, in your quest for authenticity. Heard in your humor and beauty, in your tears and pain. We value connection. And you’re welcome here. You belong here.
At Lotus Yoga Studio, we strive to change ourselves through self-love and compassion. To journey a little closer the Self each day so that we can support others with authentic kindness and compassion. We are so grateful to take this journey with you.
We are a no-touch, trauma sensitive, body positive, including yoga community. We believe that the only guru to follow is the one that lives within each of us. We are dedicated to the eight limbs of yoga which means we teach much more than the physical practice of yoga. It is different here. You are welcome here. You belong here.
